What is high potential and gifted education?
Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.
Our high potential and gifted education opportunities
Our students engage with HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW.
- Weekly support and consultation from a team of specialists including an Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist and Physiotherapist.
- Regular music therapy throughout the year with a highly qualified music therapist
- Regular art therapy throughout the year with a highly qualified art therapist
- Access to an onsite swimming pool offering regular swimming and hydrotherapy
- Science Incursion with an Environmental Education Centre and specialist teachers
- Distance Education Support Unit online lessons - Technology, Science, Food Technology, Maths, Life skills, History and Geography
- An Engine room for social and emotional regulation with individualised programs developed by a highly experienced Occupational Therapist
- Zones of Regulation program
- Access to augmentative and assistive communication supported by a highly experienced Speech Pathologist
- An Immersive room for sensory regulation
- Involvement in inter-school sports, including Boccia and Bowling tournaments
- Fundamental movement program
- Opportunities to participate in Creative Arts events such as visual art exhibitions in the local community
- Aboriginal Education with local community members from Nyumbar Education and Elders to engage with students in dance, music, cooking and art once a term
- Regular technology and coding lessons by a specialist teacher

Creative: In our school, we recognise and foster creative potential in students with complex needs. Providing a variety of ways for every student to engage their creativity and build confidence. Our staff use these experiences to identify and nurture high potential in a safe, supportive environment.
